Annie Nayina Milgin is inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame

We would like to congratulate Annie Nayina Milgin for her induction into the WA Women’s Hall of fame! Annie is a senior Nyikina woman and has served as a SharingStories board member since we began.

Annie lives in the Jarlmadangah Burru Community in Western Kimberley and has recently retired from her role in managing the community’s health clinic. Annie is a Director and Cultural Adviser of Walalakoo Aboriginal Corporation and is also the cultural boss for the Yiriman organisation, supporting the return of young people to Country where Elders teach traditional stories, songs, kinship and language.

Annie is deeply committed to the maintenance and teaching of Nyikina language and culture, her leadership has been pivotal in guiding SharingStories work over the years and we are extremely grateful to her.
